Hey there, Yaser. I am a Muslim American and also an Egyptian. Your comment from August 29, 2005 - 11:48 PM - The Singing Nation really touched me. I have been wondering about the same thing for years. My realistic goal in life is to be a future teacher that would set a role model for the young girls - and also for the guys whose vision of women became so obscured by physical assets that they forgot a woman's essence. But my imaginary dream is to be a musician, possibly a rapper, and to write/rap lyrics about social issues in the U.S. and also in Egypt. The kids need someone to talk to them in their language about their issues and with their best interest at heart. Yet, I am so strict that, although acceptance is my creed, the music world will never accept my lifestyle. Oh well, it's a dream. Just wanted to let you know that others out there think along the same lines that you do, so mayme a revolution is coming! In humanities classes, I learned that this is how artistic movements start: people are fed up with something, and then they use art to express what they truly want to see. Just a passing thought. I am sorry I can't converse back and forth with someone I don't know. I honor the rules of my family, so please don't e-mail me back. Thanks and good luck in Egypt.
